This is part one my reaction to Sassy's blog on Reghis Romero II and the Smokey Mountain Scam issue.

The first time I came across the name Reghis Romero II was when I read a feature article about a building and construction magnate as owner of the Manila Times. Photos of the mansion and the gold trimmed furniture came with the article. How lucky some people can get. He has everyting that he can ask for. I muttered to myself, he must be so good that life is good to him too.

I was wrong. He broke the commandment, Thou shall not lie,many times. HE LIED when he claimed he was the owner of the Manila Times. According to Dante Ang, the real owner of the newspaper was Mark Jimenez, the former congressman of Manila who was expatriated to the US.

HE LIED when he told his family that he was going to take a vacation in the US that his family did not believe that he was the Romero kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf group in Dos Palmas in Palawan.

Did he disobey the commandment Thou shall not commit adultery? Butch Franco reported that according to Representative Celso Lobregat of Zamboanga, Romero was released together with girl friend Ma. Riza Santos Rodriguez.

HE LIED AGAIN when he denied before a Congressional inquiry,allegations that his family paid the bandits millions of pesos for his safety.

He backed-up his lie by presenting a video footage of the supposed GREAT ESCAPE of REGIE, RIZZA and RJ from the ABU SAYYAF.

The footage showed Romero in tattered pajamas dragging with him a boy and a woman.

Sabi kasi ni Gracia Burnham, si Rizza raw ay may dala dalang extra clothes na nilalabhan niya sa tubig na dapat ay inumin nila ...Ani Gracia--in order to keep looking her best for Reggie.

Hindi malisyoso si Gracia, observant lang siya at sa panahon na ang buhay ay nasa panganib dapat ito ay hindi na sumiksik sa kaniyang ulo. Masyado ang impact sa kaniya nang walang pakialam sa kapa- kanan ng iba para lang masunod ang makasariling naisin.

Did he lie to the court when Cristina Zenate-Romero, his estranged wife resisted the seizure of vehicles saying that he failed to give support to their child for the past six months.

His Greatest lie however was when he claimed that he has money to finance the Smokey Mountain and he has none.

But even with these strings of lies,the government agencies bought bonds from him, and the Wold Bank gave him a loan.

President Clinton lied and he was impeached and Martha Stewart lied and was convicted. How come this liar goes scot-free.
