The Bloggers Started It All

Dear Mouse,

May kasalanan nito si XP.

In my blogging history, I registered the highest number of hits yesterday.

10-28-04 Patricia at Faye

You guys are so naive if not outright stupid buying the "Faye" story. If this story is true, why conceal the identity of Faye? Isn't her accomplishemnt the pride of the country? Where is Faye now? What school does she go to? It is pathetic and tragic that you guys including the columnist were taken for a ride by a stupid hoax. The next time, turn your BRAINS on and stop believing everything you read. No wonder why have such an awful country, awful people, etc...

I really doubt it kung ako ang major forwarder.

I'm a major pasaway.

"Kapwa manunulat"? Aaak, kakahiya naman kay Mr. Lacaba.

Hi, I've been longing to post this for your Patricia Evangelista articles. Let me just clear up that I'm not her distractor and I really believe that her communication skills is more than outstanding for her to make it to International competitions. Though, I just can't keep myself silent about how her speech reflected the sentiments of an elitist and not the truth about most Filipinos going abroad.

It is true that we need the world to survive but however we do not need the world to enslave us with the Western definition of humanity.

Hell, I am from UP and I should be proud. But that is not the case on this recognition, Patricia’s idea of a “Bordeless World” is an affirmation that the Filipinos do not despise the third world labor exploitation, and in fact (is) proud of it.

Millions, do not pack their bags and head somewhere else because they’d like to find their identity and be an ambassador for culture exchange, it is because their families are starving to death due to the incompetencies of those educated leaders who are supposedly giving back what this country had given them.

And as for the Faye story, I would really believe that story knowing how the government spends for education in this country. Although, the show Jessica Soho Reports
went through the documents of the Bureau of Immigration anf found no records proving the departure of Faye neither her mother in Australia between the said months that they claimed to be the dates where Faye won the quiz. Just one thing, if this story is a hoax, I hope that whoever is doing such publicity to sensationalize this issue as well as those parties involved taking the actions just as so the public will buy the story will realize how this affect the Filipino moral, in a negative way that we are willing to pull some good innocent Filipino down for self-preservation.

Thank you.

Cath:

Got your post on my tagboard. It's all right. They say that imitiation is the best form of flattery. Referring/linking to one's blog is perhaps the second best! Heheh =)

Gwen:

Pat Evangelista is a good writer, indeed. But not a journalist, perhaps. So I guess we can't blame her for not digging deeper into a story before writing (and publishing) a commentary. Then again, her column is published in a nationally-circulated broadsheet, so she should at least have the responsibility to do the necessary double-checking. BUT (another 'then again'), Mr. Federico Pascual (columnist at the STAR, and former PDI ed-in-chief), likewise wrote on Faye at almost during the same time Ms. Evalgenista did. But he at least included some indication that the 'Faye' story had not been validated at time of publication.

Regards to all!

Angelo
