Ateneo law school wins world debate tilt

Dear Mouse,

Noon mga kabarangay ni Sassy ang nanalo sa international competition sa England, ngayon naman ay mga kabarangay ni Marvin sa Ateneo; kanayon ni Brownpau at kababarrio ng aking kapatid.

THE ATENEO de Manila University Law School (ALS)team won the world championship in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. last month. ALS Dean Cesar L. Villanueva on Wednesday said that the ALS team, which represented the Philippines after beating the UP College of Law in the regional finals, defeated the National University of Singapore in the final round on April 3. The team was composed of Frederick Ryan Castillo, Aimee Bernadette Dabu, Andrew Fornier, Justine Adrienne Guerrero and Ryan Mancera, with Silvia Jo Sabio as the coach. This is the second time in the 45-year history of the Jessup Cup that the Philippine team won the international rounds, with the Ateneo team being unbeaten from the preliminary rounds all the way to the finals, according to Villanueva. In the process it defeated teams from Germany, Australia, Austria and the National University of Singapore in the final round.

Pareho na silang maliligaya.
