Tear down this wall-Reagan

Dear mouse,

A few minutes before I read about President Reagan's death, I came across an article written by one of his speech writers, Peter Robinson --a young man of 26 who wrote the speech that was chosen by Reagan among those that were presented to him because of the passage-about tearing down the wall of Berlin.

When the speech was circulated to the State Department and National Security Council , they tried to tone down the call to tear down the wall. In other drafts, they totally eliminated the statement.

On June 12, 1987, Reagan did what he thought was the right thing to do, despite another draft of speech submitted to him, hours before meeting Gorbachev.

He delivered the line without euphimism. He was just saying the truth. Mr.Gorbachev,tear down this wall .

He was indeed a great man, Cath. Noong binata at dalaga pa daw ang Mom and Dad ko, they were fans of his. On their dates sa Escolta (yun ang Greenbelt nila noon), they would watch movies of Ronald Reagan. When he became President, they admired him more. Ngayon, pare-pareho na silang nasa kabilang buhay. Sana masaya sila doon at nakapagpa-autograph na mga parents ko sa kanya, sa wakas. :)
