101 Recipes for Bangus

Dear mouse,

To promote tourism in the Philippines, there are a lot of festivals being held in the entire archipelago. In Pangasinan, a province famous for its bangus, people recently held the bangus festival.

That is bangus cooked in a thousand ways.

So I looked for recipes of bangus and I found more than a hundred ways to cook this white scaly fish.

Grilled Bangus

Ingredients:

  • 1 Whole bangus (about 2 lbs) pag kulang ng sa 2 lbs, awayin ang tindera)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 big red tomato
  • 1 medium sized onion, chopped
  • 2 pcs of green onions, chopped
  • 1. Cut the fish along the stomach and remove the gills and the fish intestines.

    Rub the fish inside and out with salt and pepper,

    Stuff the fish stomach with the mixture of tomatoes, onions and green onions.

    Wrap in foil and with a bamboo stick, grill over live coals until it is cooked.

    Serve with lemon juice and soy sauce dip.

    Preparation and cooking time: 45 minutes Serves 4

    Sorry, fifty bangus swam away and fifty were already cooked in the festival so I have only one bangus left. Good for one recipe.
