Fa(s)t Food

Dear mouse, I am not a fan of Ronald McDonald but the cheeseburger bill amused me no end. The billion dollar industry can see the writing on the wall---the warning that tobacco industry did not heed not until its too late and was beseiged with lawsuits that costed them their arms and legs and neck and head and hair so to speak. Whew. With the help of the paid lobbyists, the cheeseburger bill that prohibits overweight consumers from suing the fastfood chains for their obesity is for approval. Washington -- Congress is poised to tell fat Americans: You are what you eat, and that's your fault -- you can't blame the fast-food industry. The issue of obesity will loom large on Capitol Hill this week with the House expected to approve the so-called "cheeseburger bill," which would prevent Americans from suing fast-food giants such as McDonald's for making them overweight.
