Orly Punzalan 1935-2005

Dear Mouse,

I have met him only once but according to my mom, he was a family friend who used to come by in our home in Tandang Sora.

My sister was studying at UP College of Nursing when she volunteered to work at Veritas where she met Orly.

Even after she graduated and became a full- pledged nurse, she still hung out with Mr. Punzalan and the Veritas people. After all, they were together during that period when Veritas was bombed in order to stop its broadcast during People Power 1.

On behalf of my sister, we send our condolences to Mr. Punzalan's family.

yes, he is. an idol of my sister and a family friend.

She just informed me that she was also having chest pain at the exact time he had his.

I am happy that he reconciled with his family. He already suffered enough according to my sister.I did not know that he was that old already since my sister just called him by his first name.

I remember his feature that looks like Lito Legaspi. Peborit ko siya noon kasi kapuwa ko CAFAMFANGIT, gaya nina Ben "Ho Indeeeeeee" David and also Vic Pacia who were both tagged to be "hohey" (over acting kuno). Helen Vela was sure such a fine lass. You'll fall in love with her the moment you hear hear voice on the radio. I admired the charm of her voice bukod sa ka-berdey ko pa. That reminds me, na marami ring sumikat na mga cafamfs na aktors na mahihilig umarte na ang arte walang hilig sa kanila, ho indeeeeeeeeee! Tony Ferrer, a.k.a.Tony Falcon, a.k.a. X44 (napulot yata sa Vicks Formula 44 na gamot sa badadong ilong). Bernard Belleza who was like Falcon, was born in Macabebe (pronounced as Make A Babee). Back to you Ate Cath... soriiiiiii!

I found this blog while Googling my recently late uncle, Tito Orly. He is my father's brother. Growing up in the US, I did not get to know him well. But I can honestly say that every memory I have of him is warm and loving. Thanks for all the warm comments in his memory.
