Vivian starts journey back to family in Australia

Wearing a pink dress and a shy smile, wheelchair-bound Vivian Alvarez left her hospice home of four years yesterday to begin the journey back to her family in Australia after a deportation bungle that has embarrassed Canberra.

"I had an accident, I told them I was an Australian citizen and that my passport was not with me," she told reporters here.

She said she was to have picked up one of her sons at a day care center that day, but was instead detained by immigration authorities. Reports from Australia said her first son had been in foster care for the past four years, while another son was to set to finish high school.

Philip Salvador's ex-lover files case vs DOJ chief

Cristina Decena, former live-in partner of action star Philip Salvador, filed a case before the Commission on Appointment against Justice Secretary Raul Gonzales.The complaint was made following the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) dismissal of estafa charges Decena filed against Salvador.Decena claimed Gonzales hastily junked her case against Salvador when it usually takes 10 months to review such petition.The review on the estafa case against the action star took only two months.Decena also accused Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla of exerting his influence on the DOJ.She said she is planning to file a case against Revilla at the Senate Ethic Committee.
